Maureen Louise Pomeroy, Esq., was born and raised in Massachusetts and is the founder of Pomeroy Law P.C. After careers in the military and as a police officer, she decided to become an attorney. For the last 20 years, she has been diligently representing her business and non-profit clients. After practicing in Boston and New Hampshire, she started Pomeroy Law in 2014 (incorporating in 2017) with the goal of providing individual attention and tailored representation to her clients.
She represents many businesses and non-profits with business startup and entity formation, “in-house” counsel services, business and franchise acquisition and sales, contract drafting, corporate governance, and many other matters that impact businesses or non-profit organizations. Her employment law services include assisting companies and nonprofits with hiring and termination issues, legal compliance, and internal audits of their wage and hour practices. She also provides training to companies on their policies. One of the unique aspects of Maureen’s background that is that she spent the first 10 years of her career litigating cases in Massachusetts and New Hampshire courts and agencies. She is able to counsel her clients on best practices to remain out of litigation, and advise them on the pros and cons of litigating matters. Maureen also litigates certain employment law matters on behalf of her business and non-profit clients.
Maureen graduated cum laude from Suffolk University Law School, and received her B.A. with presidential honors in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire. She is pursuing her M.B.A. and has maintained honor level recognition in her MBA classes.
Her volunteer work includes being a board member for several organizations, including Port City Women Networking Organization, Greater Newburyport Bar Association, and the Firehouse Center for the Arts. In her free time, Maureen travels, enjoys cooking, working out, and reading. She also loves spending time with her husband and fur babies.
