Resources for Minority-Owned Businesses

If you missed Enterprise Center’s presentation on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, here is a recap of some of the resources you’ll find in Massachusetts to help your business.
Mass Development
Mass Development is an organization that offers financing, real estate, and community development solutions to help grow companies and create opportunities. They offer flexible and low-cost financial tools, real estate assistance from experts, and customizable solutions for banks, manufacturers, developers, and industries of different types.
Northeast Legal Aid
For any business owners of the Cambodian-American community, the Northeast Legal Aid provides legal assistance. This organization understands the racial and economic inequalities that communities of color face. NLA staff will help low-income and elderly people of Northeastern Massachusetts achieve justice through skillful and persistent advocacy.
Massachusetts Small Business Development Center
At the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center through Salem State University, you’ll find a group of individuals dedicated to helping your business succeed in Massachusetts. They provide free, confidential, one-to-one business assistance and free or low-cost educational training programs. This office also works closely with the Massachusetts Export Center for international trade assistance and the APEX Accelerator Program for government contracting.
North Shore CDC
The North Shore CDC invests in neighborhoods around the North Shore to help create thriving communities. Their community-focused development approach is followed through a model that invests resources into low-income and distressed neighborhoods. The North Shore CDC offers affordable housing, economic and youth development, community engagement, small business assistance, and public art and placemaking.
Mass. Gov Supplier Diversity Office
The Supplier Diversity Office helps promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in small businesses. Their mission statement includes certifying diverse businesses, connecting these companies with business opportunities and resources, and collaborating with executive agencies and public organizations to help remove barriers and increase spending.
North Shore Latino Business Association
The North Shore Latino Business Association is an organization for small businesses to promote and engage with economic, cultural, and civic resources. This will help the general prosperity of each business and the community at large. The NSLBA assists cities in the North Shore area including, but not limited to, Amesbury, Boxford, Chelsea, East Boston, Essex, Lynn, Salem, Stoneham, and Winthrop.
