Meredith Fine

Meredith A. Fine owns Cape Ann Business Law P.C., focusing on residential and commercial real estate, business counseling, and litigation. She was named Best Lawyer on Cape Ann by the readers of Cape Ann Magazine in 2015.

She is currently general counsel and a member of the Board of Directors of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce and a corporator of the Cape Ann Savings Bank. Previously, she served as President of the Gloucester Lyceum & Sawyer Free Library and Temple Ahavat Achim, as chair of the Gloucester Licensing Board, and on the boards of the Open Door and the Gloucester Rotary Club. When Temple Ahavat Achim was destroyed by fire in 2007, she chaired its Strategic Planning Committee.

Ms. Fine is a member of the Real Estate Bar Association, the Essex County Bar Association, the Gloucester Bar Association, and the North Sore Association of Realtors, which recently certified her to teach classes to first-time homebuyers.

Prior to attending New England Law/Boston in 2003, she was a newspaper reporter and editor, working in New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. She was the editor of the Gloucester Daily Times from 1996-2002. Under her leadership, the Times was named Newspaper of the Year by the New England Newspaper Association in 1998 and won seven awards from the Associated Press.

She graduated from the University of Rochester with a bachelor of arts with distinction in American history and a minor in international relations.
