Alana Olsen

As the Executive Director for Allston Village Main Streets from 2010 to 2015. AVMS is a non-profit organization associated with Mayor Walsh's Boston Main Streets Program, a public private partnership model that works to make Boston's historic neighborhood business districts a better place to live, work, dine, shop and own a business. In that time she assisted hundreds of businesses, hosted dozens of community events, funded and commissioned seven works of public art, was a leading advocate for infrastructure improvements, launched the Allston Village Farmers Market and most notably founded POP Allston, Allston's temporary pop up community space. POP Allston features a 10,000 square foot free indoor skatepark, a pop up multi-vendor vintage market, a DIY bike shop, a pop up yoga studio and an artist studio. POP has also hosted dozen of community events and meetings. Currently Alana serves as the Chief of Staff for Boston City Councilor At Large Annissa Essaibi-George.
