This course will focus on the high school or middle school Theatre Teacher who would like expand on their lighting knowledge. The class will be a combination of classroom lecture/discussion and practical hands-on work with lighting equipment. Topics will include theatrical lighting systems, lighting design, lighting fixture properties, usage, and maintenance, basic electricity, basic wiring, reading and creating lighting paperwork, and basic console programing. This class is suitable for all knowledge levels, even those with very little knowledge of theatrical lighting. Class will meet Monday, July 15 – Wednesday, July 17, 2019, 9am – 4:30pm in the Sullivan building, Classroom SB016 and the Callan Theater. Bring your lunch Monday and Tuesday, lunch provided on Wednesday.
