Karyn Polito

Lieutenant Governor, Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Karyn Polito is the 72nd Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

She began her public service in local government serving as a member of the Shrewsbury Board of Selectmen, and served for ten years in the House of Representatives after being elected in 2001.

As a family business owner and attorney, Polito has worked hard to promote jobs, reduce red tape and promote economic development through public - private partnerships. She serves as Chair for the Governor’s Council to reduce sexual assault and domestic violence, leading a council to identify best practices and determine ways to help survivors reach physical and economic security and self-sufficiency.

She also chairs the Community Compact Cabinet, which allows the Governor’s Office to work directly with city and town leaders to strengthen municipal partnerships as part of the Baker-Polito Administration's focus on building stronger communities across our Commonwealth.

Lieutenant Governor Polito is a lifelong resident of Shrewsbury, where she lives with her husband and two young children.
