Alex has more than three decades of experience in direct marketing, advertising, and new media communications in Boston and New York.
Prior to founding B Direct, key agency positions included COO and ECD for Direct Results Group/SourceLink; and VP/CD positions for Berenson, Isham & Partners; Cuneo Sullivan Dolabany; and Redgate Communications.
Over the years, Alex has developed and implemented integrated marketing campaigns for clients such as IBM, Bank of America, Forrester Research, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Polaroid, Target, Sears, Eddie Bauer, Club Med, NYNEX, State Street Bank, Stride Rite, HBO, General Electric, and Chevrolet.
She’s the recipient of dozens of advertising industry awards, including multiple DMA Gold ECHO Awards; the BPME Gold Award for Broadcast Promotion; and the “Best of Show” Silver Microphone award for a jingle package. Alex has judged the ECHOs, the Caples, and numerous regional shows. She was a featured speaker at the DMA’s Annual Conventions in New Orleans and Atlanta. She has also taught at local universities and frequently lectures for various business associations.
A past President of the New England Direct Marketing Association, and author of an acclaimed business book: The New Marketing Conversation, Alex was recognized as New England’s Direct Marketer of the Year in 2008.
When she isn’t working for clients, Alex uses her writing talents as a weekly contributor to the online magazine Women’s Voices for Change, where she covers movie, theatre and television reviews, as well as lifestyle pieces. She's a featured critic on Rotten Tomatoes. She’s also the author of Lovin’ the Alien, the book and one-act play based on her popular parenting blog.
An almuna of Tufts University and Hunter College High School, Alex is a native New Yorker. She currently lives in Marblehead, MA with her husband, daughter, and miniature dachshund, Zydeco.
