Work-life balance is a term commonly used to describe the balance that a working individual needs between time allocated for work and other aspects of life. Work- life balance is essential to combat stress, ensuring both individual and company success. The stress associated with unbalanced lifestyles is costly; it damages productivity and increases individual health risks. Understanding the benefits of a healthy balanced life will motivate anyone to make necessary changes. Time management is crucial to an effective work-life balance. Effectively assessing and managing time can help bring balance to life in and out of the office. Working towards clear goals will also help focus energy and reduce the stress that comes with not having a clearly defined purpose. Employees who have the tools to balance their professional and personal lives are happier, healthier, and more productive. Companies that include work-life balance as part of their culture will be able to better attract and retain qualified candidates.
