THE HEALTH CONNECTOR FOR BUSINESS INFORMATION SESSION

Even now, small businesses in Massachusetts need access to quality health care for their employees. If you are wondering “Who has affordable health plans, with plan selection, and dental coverage?” The answer is, “We do,” at the Massachusetts Health Connector for Business.

 

For companies with up to 50 employees, Health Connector for Business provides a one stop shop for a wide range of plans and gives employees the option of choosing the plan that best meets their needs. With more than 70 plans statewide, there is something for everyone.

 

How can this information session help you?

This information session will focus on health insurance options available to small businesses and their employees through Health Connector for Business.

 

The agenda includes:

  • Health Connector for Business exclusive cost saving benefits
    • Small Business Tax Credit –  employers with up to 25 employees who pay average annual wages below $50,000 and provide health insurance will be eligible for up to a 50 percent tax credit
    • ConnectWell rebate wellness program – qualifying employers can earn back up to 15% of their contribution at the end of the plan year. Employees earn $100 gift cards by participating in a qualifying wellness activity
  • Employee choice options for coverage through the Health Connector for Business
    • Our Employee Choice models allow employers the flexibility to offer employees a range of plans, and lock in premium costs that meet their budget
  • A review of options for sole proprietors through the Massachusetts Health Connector

Massachusetts Health Connector

Niki Conte joined the Massachusetts Health Connector in December of 2006 soon after the passage of Massachusetts Health Care Reform and the creation of the organization. She initially served as the Director of Outreach for the Commonwealth Care program, the state’s subsidized health insurance plan that served over 175,000 members. In that role, she worked to develop communications and outreach strategies to engage both new and existing members.

After the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), she helped develop and implement strategies to effectively transition consumers into their ACA compliant plans available on MAhealthconnector.org with a focus on the development of the Health Connector’s Navigator grant program that offers community-based eligibility and enrollment assistance.

Currently, as the Director of Outreach and Education, she continues to work on strategies to maintain awareness about the Massachusetts Health Connector, engage and inform potential new members and stakeholder groups about the changes and opportunities for health insurance coverage available through the Massachusetts Health Connector including the Health Connector for Business platform.

Chaitra Sanders

Chaitra Sanders, Associate Director of Health Connector for Business, Massachusetts Health Connector

Chaitra Sanders joined the Massachusetts Health Connector in 2018 soon after the launch of the new Health Connector for Business online shopping platform for small businesses. She initially began as Distribution Channel and Account Manager. In that role, she primarily served as the service and sales liaison for direct small employer groups, brokers and other distribution channels.

As Health Connector for Business membership has grown, Chaitra’s role has transitioned to Associate Director of Health Connector for Business. She currently oversees the direction and coordination of the small business health and dental insurance products, focused on membership growth and retention. She continues with the Health Connector to implement outreach initiatives that engage and inform potential new small business members and their employees about the changes and opportunities for health insurance coverage available through MAhealthconnector.org/business.
