Receive a $100 discount if you register by midnight, September 4! Have you ever wondered how businesses use social media to get engagement, customer leads and sales? How to plan a successful social media campaign for your business, or that of your employer—one that really works? Many people have a working knowledge of the social media platforms they use personally, but it’s not always easy to turn that knowledge into an effective marketing plan for business.
This 6-week class can help. Part lecture, part hands-on, this class will teach you how to work with ‘The Big Six’ of the social media platforms—Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
We’ll talk about and take the mystery out of:
? what a social media strategy is, and why it’s important for business;
? the benefits of a social media strategy, and the six steps to creating one;
? the steps to creating a listening and content marketing strategy;
? the importance of social media monitoring;
? creating and growing your social media presence using ‘The Big Six’;
? the five steps to promoting your business and growing your audience; and
? measuring influence and your social Return on Investment (ROI).
Not to be left out of the equation, we’ll also spend some time talking about the additional components of a full online digital marketing plan: your website, SEO, e-mail marketing, e-newsletters, and press releases.
After completion of this class, you will have the front-end knowledge to plan a social media campaign. You will be able to focus on the needs of your company, while remaining focused on its goals. And you can turn this knowledge into an effective plan to help your own business, or that of your employer.
Come learn the ins and outs of social media…and have fun besides!
Level: Advanced Beginner. As a minimum, attendees should have a personal Facebook profile and a working proficiency of the Facebook platform. Familiarity with the other social media platforms mentioned is helpful, although not required. When the class comes together, we will decide whether to work on group or individual projects. After completion of this class, students will earn a Certificate of Proficiency.
NOTE: This class meets for 6-weeks, Tuesday evenings, from 7-9 pm from September 8 through October 13. Class meets at Salem State University, Central Campus, Bertolon School, Room CC155.
