According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, “The most impacted industries facing staffing shortages are the transportation, health care, and social assistance industries, as well as the accommodation and food sectors, which have had the highest numbers of job openings.”
For the Massachusetts and New England region, areas filled with first-class medical and healthcare facilities as well as a strong tourism industry, this is not good news.

Networking may not look like it used to as many networking groups have gone completely virtual, but the concept is still the same. Be specific in the positions you have available as well as any benefits that you may want to be passed along to potential candidates.

Now is the time to leverage your online presence. Use job boards and career sites to advertise your current openings and keep track of your potential candidates. Sites such as Indeed, CareerBuilder, ZipRecruiter, Monster, Google Jobs, and LinkedIn are some optimal places to post your organization’s openings. An index by Jobvite shows that an enormous 43 percent of job seekers search for positions using a job board, while 32 percent use career sites.

Social media is quickly becoming a place to find and hire talented workers. According to a study conducted by Jobvite, “95 percent of companies surveyed said they successfully hired from LinkedIn, while 24 percent pointed to Facebook and 16 percent credited Twitter.”
