About the Salem State University Assistance Corporation
The Salem State University Assistance Corporation (SSUAC) was created by a special act of the state legislature in 1994 (which was amended in 1995, 2007 and 2012.)
The SSUAC was created to:
- promote the orderly growth and development of the University;
- assist the University in securing physical and financial resources necessary for the acquisition and development of properties that are important to allowing SSUAC to fulfill its purposes;
- manage and operate the Enterprise Center.
The SSUAC owns and operates commercial rental properties. The Assistance Corporation is legally separate from the University and the University is not financially accountable for the Assistance Corporation.
