As we enter this global century there are huge opportunities for entrepreneurs interested in expanding into emerging markets. Our speaker has been studying and investing in these markets for some time. Come hear about the areas of the emerging middle class that have the best growth prospects. Retail, automobile, financial services, health care and technology companies are strong growth drivers. Rob will discuss the opportunities and challenges of these sectors and some of the unique aspects of doing business with and in these nations. Some interesting areas to be discussed: Regulations, taxes, infrastructure costs, profit margins, wage rates, and growth of incomes and per capita health care spending by country.

About Marie Hladikova

Marie is the trade services manager for the Massachusetts Export Center, part of the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network. She counsels companies on exporting, helps them to expand into new markets overseas and conducts international market research for clients.

Additionally, Marie helps to coordinate the Partners for Trade export seminar series, which delivers a broad range of training programs for Massachusetts businesses at every stage of the export process. She is also coordinator of the International Trade Reporter e-newsletter and manages the Export Centers intern program. Marie co-authored several papers in the area of international marketing and has presented her research at national and international conferences.

Marie graduated with a degree in international business, summa cum laude, from Salem State University and received Certified Global Business Professional designation from the North American Small Business International Trade Educators Association in 2006. Marie has lived and worked throughout the EU, is fluent in Czech and Slovak, and has traveled throughout the world.


About Rob Lutts

Rob Lutts serves as President and Chief Investment Officer for Cabot Money Management, Inc. He received his MBA degree in investments and finance from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and his bachelor of science degree in finance and management from Babson College. He is head of the company’s Investment Policy Committee and oversees a select group of client accounts. Rob has taken a strong interest in global research, particularly China and India, and emerging markets in general. He is a regular contributor on CNBC, Bloomberg, and FOX Business News. He has also been quoted in leading publications, such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s.
