North Shore Business Plan Competition Announces 6 Semi-Finalists
Includes Companies From Education to Healthcare, Recycling to Computer Based Wellness Games, Children’s Footwear to New Probiotic Drinks
The North of Boston Business Plan Competition today announced the six semi-finalists who will compete for $20,000 in prize money. Hosted by the Enterprise Center at Salem State College, and the Merrimack Valley Economic Development Council, the competition showcases new growth companies in the North of Boston area including the North Shore and Merrimack Valley. An expert panel of 14 judges who are investors, bankers, and community and business leaders selected the six semi-finalists this week.
The six semi-finalists are:
Ashton Industries, Inc. (www.myarchangels.com) – Dedicated to designing and producing affordable foot care products for children.
Cylinder Recyclers (www.cylinderrecyclers.com) – The nation’s premier compressed gas cylinder recycling company and the nation’s only option for acetylene cylinder recycling.
Glymetrix (www.glymetrix.com) - Provides innovative engagement strategies to motivate better diabetes management through the use of games, rewards and incentives.
Halcyon Diagnostics, Inc. (website currently under construction) – An early-stage personalized medicine company focused on commercializing novel predictive diagnosis for targeted cancer therapeutics.
KnowAtom, LLC (www.knowatom.com) – The company’s innovative curriculum product, which emphasizes hands-on projects that students take home, Socratic dialogue and web resources, makes science easy to teach and exciting to learn from kindergarten through fifth grade.
DAHlicious, LLC (www.dahlicious.com) - Produces delicious and healthy probiotic smoothies made with native yogurt of India and REAL fruit; each 8oz bottle packing over 15 billion probiotic cultures.
